Truly sorry for not sticking to my word when I mentioned I’d update this website more often. To win your trust back I’ll post a photo heavy, diary type update for anyone interested in the past few months of my life.

To kick off summer I rode trains through the desert from California to Louisiana at the beginning of June.

When it was time to get out of town I rode Norfolk Southern up to Atlanta for a day. I rode mopeds all over town with a friend and went to the Georgia Aquarium. In the evening I went back to the NS yard and caught a train up to Pennsylvania headed for Philly. I spent a few days in Philly before heading to Brooklyn where I spent all of July.

While I was in Brooklyn I got to walk dogs, tattoo people, paint some stuff, take a train trip out to Pittsburgh/Braddock, go night swimming at Fort Tilden and I saw the Beach Boys play for free at Coney Island.

After New York I was on my way to Atlanta, Georgia for the Living Walls Conference which basically became “Graffti Kid Summer Camp.” Artists and speakers from all over came to Atlanta to paint murals around the city, set up a gallery show and give lectures at the conference. We were all put up in a huge studio next door to the gallery and along the CSX mainline where trains were constantly arriving and departing.

Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped put together the conference and to Blacki and Monica for inviting me. Special thanks to Mel and Kyle for being the best point people ever, driving me where I needed to go and bringing me coconut juice while I painted. I really miss everyone involved with “Graffiti Kid Summer Camp” and I hope it happens again next year! That’s about as up to date as my photos get at the moment. Once I get my latest 4 to 5 rolls of film developed I’ll fill you in on my current adventures which involve: North Carolina, shooting guns, river swimming, Best Friends Day, the Florida Keys, and lots of trains.

I had a great day in Santa Barbara recently. I will now admit that Santa Barbara is underrated. Maybe all of the college kids were in class during my visit, and maybe it’s unusual for dolphins to swim that close to the beach, and maybe the people I happen to know in town are in fact the nicest people there. Happenstance or not, Santa Barbara has been added to my map of visitable cities.

p.s. When I had my friend help me make this website I thought I’d be updating it more. If anyone’s reading this I apologize! I wonder if I should try to put stuff up here more or if no one really looks at it since I only update once a month. If you’re really out there reading, I’ll do better.

p.p.s. I’m on my way out east in a week or so: new orleans, miami, atlanta, pittsburgh, philly, nyc etc..

Had to find a new place to store all of my paintings recently. Can’t leave them stacked in the kitchen of a collapsing punk house forever (especially one I’m no longer a resident of). Lucky for anyone reading this, moving my paintings around inspired me to document some of the larger ones that I never got a chance to photograph (Thanks to Jenn for using her really expensive camera to take the photos). Painted a semi-legal truck late last night in west oakland.
